You only get one shot at an event. Once the speech is over or the candles are blown out, that moment is gone. The photo is all that’s left of it.
That’s basically the whole job of an event photographer — being in the right spot when it happens, not five seconds after. At Pixiest Photography, we shoot corporate events, birthdays, anniversaries, brand launches, and pretty much anything in between, all across Delaware. Doesn’t matter if it’s 20 people in a backyard or 200 people in a conference hall. We’re there to get the real moments, not just a bunch of stiff group shots nobody will look at twice.
Based in Newark, we cover Wilmington, Dover, and the rest of the state too

So What Actually Is Event Photography?
It’s photo coverage of something that’s already happening — a conference, a party, a reception, whatever. The difference between this and a portrait session is simple: nobody’s posing. We’re not setting up shots and asking people to smile. We’re just there, watching for the moment, and pressing the shutter when it shows up.
It sounds easy until you’ve tried it. Lighting changes every five minutes. People move. The best moment of the night might last two seconds. You need someone who’s done this enough times to know where to stand before the speech even starts.
What We Cover
Every event is different, so the coverage looks a little different too.
Corporate & Business Events
This is one of our biggest categories. Companies around Delaware bring us in for conferences, seminars, product launches, networking nights, award shows — you name it.
Here’s the thing, people don’t always think about: those photos don’t just disappear after the event. They end up on your website. They get reused in next year’s sponsor deck. Someone pulls one for a LinkedIn post six months later. A blurry phone photo doesn’t cut it for any of that.
A few examples of what we shoot for corporate clients:
- Conferences and seminars
- Team meetings and internal events
- Networking nights and mixers
- Product launches
- Award ceremonies
- Speaker sessions and panels
- Candid crowd and networking shots
If your event ties into a bigger brand push, take a look at our Delaware Commercial Photography Services too — a lot of clients combine the two.
Outdoor and Large-Scale Events
Festivals and big outdoor gatherings are a different animal entirely. More ground to cover, more people, and sometimes it just makes sense to get an aerial shot of the whole thing. For that, we offer drone coverage on top of regular photography.
Birthdays, Anniversaries, and Family Gatherings
Not everything we shoot is a business affair. Plenty of our work is birthday parties, anniversary dinners, reunions, and the kind of cultural celebrations where half the joy is just watching everyone together in one room.
We’ve got dedicated pages for some of these if you want more detail — check out Birthday Photography or Family Photography for that side of things.
Weddings and Engagement Events
Receptions, engagement parties, bridal showers — these get their own dedicated treatment because weddings deserve more depth than we can fit here. Head over to our Wedding Photography Services page for the full breakdown.
Anything Else
Got something that doesn’t fit neatly into a category? A pop-up, a milestone thing, a one-off event with no real name for it? That’s fine — we still want to hear about it. Our Special Event Photography page covers the more flexible side of what we do.
Why People Book Us
There’s no shortage of photographers in Delaware. Here’s what tends to make clients pick us and, more importantly, come back next year.
We pay attention to timing: Speeches start early. Cakes get cut before anyone announces it. If you’re not already watching, you miss it. We build a rough timeline beforehand so we’re never caught off guard.
We don’t just shoot the obvious stuff: The big moments matter, sure, but so do the small details — the table setup, the signage, the side conversation that turns into the best photo of the night. A good gallery has all of it, not just the highlight reel.
We edit fast: If you need a photo for a press release the next morning, we know that matters more than perfect color grading three weeks later.
Pricing isn’t one-size-fits-all: A 20-person birthday gets priced like a 20-person birthday, not a scaled-down version of a corporate package.
We actually know Delaware: We’re based in Newark, so we know the venues, the lighting quirks, and the logistics of getting around the state on event day. That matters more than people think.

What Event Photography Packages Actually Cost
Let’s just get into it, since this is usually the first thing people want to know.
Pricing depends on a handful of things: how long you need us there, whether you want one photographer or two, how many edited photos you’re expecting at the end, and any extras like drone shots or a faster turnaround. There’s no flat number that works for every event, which is honestly true for most photographers — anyone who quotes you a single price before knowing your event details is probably guessing.
Hosting Small Events
A birthday party doesn’t need the same coverage as a 300-person conference, and we don’t price it that way. Small event photography pricing is built around shorter windows — usually an hour or two — with a smaller set of final edited images. If you’re not doing all-day coverage, tell us roughly how big the event is and how long it runs, and we’ll put together something that actually matches.
For Corporate Events
Corporate clients usually need longer coverage, more speaker sessions documented, and a faster turnaround since the photos often get used for marketing right away. We build these packages around your team’s actual deliverables — web-ready images, social crops, print files, whatever you need.
Either way, reach out, and we’ll send you a real number, not a vague range, within a day.

Where We Shoot
Most of our work happens in:
We’ll also travel to nearby Maryland or Pennsylvania if the event makes sense.
How a Booking Actually Goes
First, we talk. A quick call or message about your event — date, venue, rough guest count, anything specific you want covered. Reach out here to start that conversation.
Then we plan. Before the event, we sketch out a loose timeline so we know when the speeches, toasts, or key moments are likely to happen.
Event day. We show up early, scope out the lighting and layout, and then just work through the event — candid shots, key moments, the details most people forget to photograph.
Editing. Every photo we hand over has been gone through for color and clarity. We’re not trying to make it look fake — just clean and natural.
Delivery. You get a private online gallery with everything ready to download. If you need it fast, say so up front and we’ll prioritize it.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
It really depends on the event — length, number of photographers, how many final images you want. A two-hour birthday party and a full-day conference are priced completely differently. Reach out with your details and we’ll get you a real quote within a day, not a generic price range.
At minimum: a quick consultation beforehand, coverage for the time window you book, editing on every selected photo, and a private gallery to download everything from. Things like drone shots, a second photographer, or rush delivery get added on depending on what you need.
Small events get small-event pricing. We’re not going to charge you for an all-day package if you’re hosting a two-hour birthday gathering. Tell us the size and length, and we’ll scale things to match.
Pretty much any business gathering — conferences, product launches, networking events, award nights, internal team events. The photos usually end up on a website, in a social post, or in next year’s marketing deck, so they need to look like it.
For most events, one photographer covers it fine. If you’ve got a lot happening at once — say, a conference with breakout sessions running simultaneously — a second photographer makes sense so nothing gets missed. We’ll tell you honestly what we think your event needs when we talk through the details.
Usually 5 to 7 business days for the full edited gallery. If you need something sooner — like for a press release the next day — mention it when you book and we’ll bump it up.
Yes, from small backyard gatherings up to bigger festivals. For larger outdoor events, drone coverage is also an option if you want an aerial view of the whole crowd or venue.
Definitely, and people do this fairly often. If there’s a portrait opportunity built into your event — headshots at a corporate gathering, for example — just mention it when booking and we’ll work it into the plan.
Newark, Wilmington, and Dover are where we’re most active, but we cover events across the whole state. We’ll also travel into nearby Maryland or Pennsylvania for the right event.
Easiest way is to fill out our contact form, call or text , or just email info@pixiestphotography.com. Tell us the date, location, and rough size of your event, and we’ll get back to you fast with a quote.
Let’s Cover Your Event Properly
You don’t get a second chance at this. Whatever the occasion is, it’s happening once, and the photos are what you’ll have left of it.
We’ve been doing this long enough to know what to watch for and when to show up early. Big or small, corporate or personal — we’ll make sure the moments that mattered actually get caught.
